I WOULD RECOMMEND AND USE AGAIN
I contacted Alexandre at Shoestring Filming prior to shooting a commercial abroad with regard to having two new showreels created / edited (one acting and one commercial) from some existing footage I had. Alexandre provided me with details and pricing and upon my return I sent over footage and details for my two reels. Creating my showreel with Shoe String Filming has been an absolute pleasure. I needed to film one scene and have the rest of my existing footage edited alongside my new scene. Alexandre captured exactly what I wanted from my new scene and wrote a very well written and witty script. He was prompt and professional. The filming day was well organised and well executed. The whole team were a joy to work with and therefore made it easy to relax into my performance. When I saw the scene I was very happy with the quality of the audio and visuals and the cut of the scene. All of my footage was edited into a showreel the very next day, and Alex was extremely accommodating when I asked for small changes to be made. SHOOT DAYS WERE SO MUCH FUN
After doing plenty of research into different showreel providers I decided to go with Shoe String Filming. I really liked the quality of the previous showreels Alex had done and the price was very reasonable.It was defiantly the right choice. Within 2 days of speaking to Alex and telling him what sort of thing I wanted for my showreel, I received the scripts. I was so impressed with his efficiency and how he was always available to answer any questions or queries I had throughout the process. The Writing: Not only does Shoe String Filming write everything from scratch specifically for you, they never use it again for anyone else. It is of a quality that surpasses most short films let alone showcase scenes. Also if you don’t like, or think the script to too similar to something else you have. They are willing to “throw it out” and start again until you get the right fit.
The Production: Was professional, flawless and fun. It felt as if I was working with an old friend not someone I had never met in real life before.
Uploading: Shoe String Filming uploaded all the scenes as well as the finished showreel to YouTube (and sent a copy of all the films to me) as well as uploading it to my Spotlight and Casting Call Pro (saving me the headache!)

If you haven’t been acting very long everything is a bit of a mind field. Alex and his team can help guide you through it all with ease. I didn’t have a lot of footage (as I am only just starting out) but I wanted a reel. Alex explained in detail each cut of my reel he made and I feel like we worked together to show the most from the least amount of footage. ‘I am a UK based actor with experience in mainstream TV. film and theatre. I recently had the good fortune to meet Alexandre Ross from Shoe String Filming as I was looking for a company to produce a new showreel for me. During the initial meeting with Alex we discussed my thoughts and requirements for my showreel. He had lots of good ideas, was able to highlight potential gaps in my showreel and had lots of great industry advice and also advice on marketing myself via social media etc.
He then went away and produced a bespoke scene written especially for me to fill the gaps in my showreel. When we filmed the scene a couple of weeks later, the process was very efficient, professional and friendly from start to finish. Alex also handled the editing of the scene and integrated it with some of my previous work into an excellent new showreel that I am thrilled with. Finally Alex also helped with the social media side of things, uploading my new showreel onto the internet – YouTube etc.
